Training Programmes

One of the missions of Birdwood Downs is to pass on the knowledge and experience that was gained since its founding. Therefore several training programmes are offered. All these programmes focus on hands-on experience.

The TAFE certified training Rural Operation teaches basic station skills. We educate the TAFE levels Cert 1 and Cert 2.

Our Kimbereley School of Horsemanship educates the full scale of knowledge to own and ride horses and maintain the associated equipment.

The Ecological Frontiers Programmes were developed with the Institute Of Ecotechnics to transfer the knowledge and experience to participate in and manage ecological land care programmes as Birdwood Downs itself. This training requires living on the station for a period of 1 to 2 years to get hands on experience. A training program of shorter duration is available as well.
